The hardest part of the day will be deciding which line to book onto, choosing from the Pink, Grey, Orange, Purple, Blue, Green, Red and Yellow routes. Each line takes you to a variety of estates. A ride on the Blue Line will take you to La Bourgogne where you can enjoy a unique wine and caramel pairing. The Green Line goes to La Bri, which has a special kiddie's pairing, so the kids can join in the fun! The Red Line features Grande Provence with its stunning sculpture garden and gallery, and The Yellow Line goes to Franschhoek Cellar where guests can indulge in a variety of tastings, including a blind tasting challenge! Many of the estates feature on multiple lines, but it's always worth checking the exact route before booking to ensure you have the perfect day. The wine tram departs the ticket office daily except for 24th December, 25th December, 31st December and 1st January.There are currently five lines that you will need to choose from when booking:
Blue Line: 09:30, 10:00, 10:30, 11:00, 11:30, 12:00, 12:30 and 13:00
Red Line: 09:30, 10:00, 10:30, 11:00, 11:30, 12:00, 12:30 and 13:00
Pink Line: 09:30, 10:00, 10:30, 11:00, 11:30, 12:00, 12:30 and 13:00
Orange Line Schedule 1: 08:45, 09:45, 10:45, 11:45
Orange Line Schedule 2: 09:05, 10:05, 11:05, 12:05
Navy Line: 10:05, 11:05 and 12:05
Each line goes to several different wine farms and vineyards, so please enquire upon booking if you want to know the individual stops.
All dates are subject to availability at the time of booking.
Children are welcome, but you must be over 18 to drink alcohol. Children under 3 go free with no need to book.

A perfect outing, close enough to Cape Town for a day trip. Absolutely stunning wine farms en route. Dieu Donne and Haute Cabriere have absolutely spectacular scenery. You would struggle to find better views. Leonard's Leap was lovely too. A really relaxing, chilled, special day out.
We spent a real fun day on the Franschhoek Wine Tram! This is such a well-organised experience with professional, friendly staff. The various wine farms that we visited catered for a wide variety of preferences and boast beautiful locations. We shall definitely be back!

We spent the best day wine tasting in various wineries in Franschhoek. Our transfer collected us in the morning from central Cape Town and drove us directly to where we needed to be - everything was seamless & easy! If you want a well-organised, easy way of visiting Franschhoek and multiple wineries in one day, I would definitely recommend this wine tasting tour.
This Franschhoek wine tram tour was so much fun! I recieved this voucher as a birthday gift and my friends and I went to four different wineries and enjoyed tastings at each. My two favourite wine estates visited on the tour were Eikehof and Rickety Bridge. I bought bottles of wine to take home at both locations and can't wait to enjoy them! One of the best parts of the day was rose ice cream at Rickety Bridge! Overall -totally recommeneded! (Probablly best to have a hearty breakfast before you go. If you need to grab a bit there's great Cafe right by ticket booth check-in where you can enjoy something to eat before you start a day of wine tastings.)
You could certainly do this trip a few times and still go again. On our trip we visited 4 different wine estates (Eikehof, Chamonix, Dieu Donne and Rickety Bridge) out of a maximum of 5 on the day, but we could have stuck to 2 or 3 and still had plenty of wine. The tasting portions are very generous and there was no pressure selling from any of the farms we visited. The tram / bus is an experience in itself and the vineyards provide a great setting and excellent value. I've spent a lot of time in Cape Town and this seems great for both locals and tourists.
This was by far my favourite day on our trip to Cape Town - even though it's in Franschhoek! The whole experience is organised with utmost precision and went so smoothly. We visited Eikehof, Chamonix, Dieu Donne and Rickety Bridge on the Red Line, with plenty of time for wine tastings and lunch. This is a fantastic experience that everyone must try!
