Excellent Tour guide, lots of info on the 3 wine farms visited and she was able to answer questions asked. The tram was fun and informative info about the wine region whilst travelling. Lunch was a great 3 course food and wine pairing experience and the service was excellent.
Our guide Roger was really nice and he was with us all day giving us interesting information about wines and the area. We went to a Rickety Bridge where we spent a lot of time with explanations, discussion & tasting, & also had a delicious lunch. It was raining and wet, but we sat near a blazing fire and were very comfortable. Then we went to Grande Provence where we had a quick look at the Art Gallery before our wine tasting, and ended the day at La Bri where we enjoyed Chocolate & Biltong with the wines. Thank you very much for the arrangements. We had a great time!
My friend and I had a lovely time on this tour. We started the day at 10:30 am and finished around 5:00 pm. You visit a total of three wine farms, with a tasting at each. You get a three course lunch with additional wine pairings for each course at the Rickerty Bridge Estate Restaurant in between. It was so peaceful to sit and eat a nice lunch with our small group, getting to know each other, to the backdrop of the beautiful mountains and vineyards. Also, the portions are extremely generous! For the third wine tasting, you're offered a choice of a Biltong or Chocolate pairing. I couldn't decide, so ordered both (as an extra board and 3 wines was only R85). I think I enjoyed the Biltong the best, it paired beautifully with the red wines and, the dried Droëwors sausage was delicious. We had a lovely guide, Roger, who was always smiling and happy to answer any questions we had about the wines. Definitely a good option if this is your first time in Franschhoek. A great way to meet people, learn about the different wines you're drinking and the history of the estates. It was also nice that all we had to do was turn up and someone else had already planned our entire day, including timings etc.
